"How might we redesign Apple Mail to make it more customizable?"
Apple Mail is known for its 3 column layout, straight forward and simple UI.
I wanted to redesign the layout but keep the straight forward and simple UI they are known for.
Apple Mail lets users decide on which color to flag an email with.
But notice how small the flag is, with all the text it could get lost visually.

User Flow Chart
1| Redesigning the Layout
2| Adding Folder Customization
This is how a user will navigate the redesign.
I wanted to move away from the 3 column traditional layout and propose something that reminds me of an Apple desktop.
I added more customization options by including a color or image upload option for the user to design their own folder dashboard.
3| Adding Highlight System
Apple Mail's current UI for flagging emails can go unnoticed since the icon is so small. I've solved this problem by designing a highlight system that is both noticeable and customizable.
· Expand on more email client capabilities like composing emails, etc.
· Add rearrangement options to folders, making them more customizable and resemble Apple's desktop.
· Solve design problems such as how to differentiate between a selected email and a customized highlight.
· Add theme or suggested colors to folders to help users with color schemes.
After researching competitors I've found similarities across email clients and some opportunities to grow.
My top findings were that most email clients use 3 column layout and Apple Mail lacks customization compared to its competitors.
